North of Main

Our Story

The best part of any day is the part where you come home.

Home arrives quietly

Nobody plans the moment a house starts to feel like home. It happens in the ordinary hours — the kettle going on, a lamp left low, the throw that is always within reach of the chair you sit in most.

North of Main grew out of that feeling, and a stubborn belief that the place you live shouldn’t have to be perfect to feel like it belongs to you.

A house gets its character the same way a person does — slowly, and by being used.

The things we keep

There is a reason certain objects outlast everything else in a house. A board carried to the table a hundred times. A basket holding whatever the day needs. A candle that only gets lit when someone is on their way over.

These pieces don’t shout. They take in the life around them — the fingerprints, the sun-fade, the slow softening of wood and cloth — and they are better for it. We would rather you keep something for a decade than admire it for a week.

Made by hand, chosen with care

Everything here passed through someone’s hands first: a woodworker at a bench, a weaver at a frame, a person pouring wax in a kitchen that smells like cedar. Natural materials, honest finishes, nothing fussed over.

We choose pieces the way you would choose them for your own shelf. Does it feel good to hold. Does it look right beside the things you already have. Would it still be here in five years.

A home is never finished, and that is the good part. Take your time, run your hand along the wood, and if you find the one that has been waiting for your kitchen — we would love to send it home with you.
